Salted Fields in Kampot

May 3th, 2021, needing some time alone, I take my motorbike down to Fish Island, an Island situated between the two arms of the Praek Tuek Chhu River before reaching the ocean.

The citizens of the island live in the North, close to the bridge heading towards Kampot Town. In the south, there is a few little mountains (around 80 meters high) and hundreds of salt fields. The city of Kampot is recognized for trading very high quality salt and pepper since the 19th century.

In the pictures, taken with a drone DJI Mavic Mini 2, we can see the salt fields, the mangroves, the ocean, Phu Quoc (a Vietnamese Island), the Bokor Mountain National Park, fisherman boats and the birds living on the river during sunset time.
